Do you Hoopla: How Hoopla App Works With Your Library Card For Free Reads and Videos
by Niki Wyre
Do you have a Library Card? Well I am here to tell you why you need to be using the free Hoopla app now to maximize the potential of your library card. Got an ereader? Digital device you read on? listen to books on or stream movies on? How about read digital comic books?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, I am going to tell you how I have been using this service (thanks to my local library branch – Clearwater Public Library) and my library card PIN number. All I needed to sign up was to download the app, fill in my desired log in information, my library branch, my library card number and my PIN number. Of course I didn’t have one yet, but if you already download eBooks from your local branch (which yes you can do this) you probably already have one. I just went in to the library to request a PIN #. Once set up, I logged in to account and boom. Ready to go.
My library allows me to borrow up to 10 titles a month from Hoopla. That may not sound like much to an avid reader but it adds up when some are best sellers, box sets, audiobooks, comic books or even streaming titles that would cost much more or have wait times of 6 weeks or more on eBook at library. Instead we get instantly. Woohoo.
I was super excited to find the entire Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham with each 3 books in a box set each counting as 1 title each. So 9 books only counted as 3 borrows total. 🙂
I am working my way through this series and can’t wait to continue to explore more of the Hoopla app in the near future. I just wanted to pass it along for those of you that may of missed out on this great feature of your library card too.
I am so glad we came across this table back at Clearwater Comic Con at our little library. Otherwise I may not of found out about this excellent app for a while longer. It works great with my Kindle Fire, my Samsung cell phone, smart TV and windows PC. So it is very versatile. I can stop and pick up where I left off reading on my Kindle on my phone when I am out somewhere waiting and don’t have my Kindle, which is very awesome, by the way. I highly recommend this service and app. ( I get nothing from them, it’s a free service, no referrals). Just check to see if it works with your library.
You can visit Hoopla at https://www.hoopladigital.com. There you can browse titles, read all the details and download the app. So check it out and enjoy!
Until next time,
